To get over the wall.
Have the courage to take a step forward.

Masahiro Okamura (Teacher at Chiba Prefectural Chiba School for the Blind)

Rio de Janeiro Paralympics Marathon
bronze medalist

*For the general public, we do not recommend running while wearing this device. In Okamura's case, he only uses it for practice, in a familiar schoolyard with no obstacles, where sufficient safety can be ensured.

Q. How have you seen it in your daily life?
I have had night blindness since I was a child, which makes it difficult for me to walk in unfamiliar places at night, and I find it difficult to go out.
I've lived my life this way for many years.
Q.How do you feel after wearing MW10?
Usually it's pitch black and I can't see anything, but when I tried using this MW10, I was impressed because I could clearly see the shapes of objects.
I was so happy that I ran on the track in the schoolyard. There were no obstacles on the ground and the white boundary line was clearly visible, so I was able to run with peace of mind.
Q. Until then, what kind of conditions have you been practicing?
During practice, I run about 20 to 25 km a day on average. The hours are morning and evening, and after classes are over. Especially at night, there aren't many places with lights in the neighborhood, so I had to run in pitch darkness or go out of my way to a field that was well-equipped with lights.
Having the MW10 allows me to practice in my neighborhood, which is very helpful.
Q.Do you think you can use it to reach even higher heights?
I think it will be useful in the future when there will be more dark hours such as winter.
Q. Do you have a message for those who are about to enter the workforce or are taking on challenges?
I think the MW10 is a very useful item for people who have typical night blindness and can maintain some degree of central vision.
Although it is often difficult to feel positive when there are many inconveniences, I believe that each of us has our own goals and dreams.
I think MW10 will help us achieve that goal.

Thank you very much, Masahiro Okamura.

Mr. Kensuke Nomura

I have been using MW10 for a year.

My life has changed. I no longer have to worry about the coming night. Owning it has actually made me look forward to going dark. Even at aquariums and art museums, which I had previously found boring because I couldn't see them, I was now able to feel the excitement of knowing that something like this actually existed. I'm most happy that I was able to share things that I couldn't see before with the people around me.
